We acknowledge the profound role the environment plays on how we learn and our behaviour. Catholic Early EdCare’s long day care centres and kindergartens have been consciously designed to nurture a calm, relaxed environment and incorporate structures for creative play.
At Catholic Early EdCare we acknowledge the profound role the environment plays on how we learn and our behaviour. Our environment sets the tone for learning (often referenced as the third teacher) and assists in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where your child feels calm and connected.
We know children learn best in a rich and varied environment and our long day care centres and kindergartens have a conscious design which is homely, peaceful and embraces nature.
Rather than create colourful walls and spaces which can overstimulate, our intention is to establish a nurturing environment which allows your child’s mind and eyes space to rest and create.
Our rooms have a focus on play-based learning, featuring creative art studios, comfortable reading corners, construction materials and a real community feel with shared spaces and materials.
It’s through these environments that your child can explore their interests and spark their imaginations.
Allowing opportunities for your child to practice mindful activities and rest during the day is also a priority.
Environments are designed to be age appropriate, uncluttered and responsive to your child’s needs and interests while also being consistent, providing stability for your child.
What you can expect to see on a tour of a Catholic Early EdCare long day care centre or kindergarten:
Embracing Nature

Sensory gardens, water and sand play as well as mud kitchens all support your child’s learning.

Our art spaces combine crafts and natural materials to harness creativity and develop fine motor skills. Children’s artwork is displayed and framed to promote self-esteem and demonstrate your child’s talents.
Reading corner
Our well-resourced reading corners, equipped with comfortable cushions and canopies, are sanctuaries for your child to rest and relax or engage in group reading and imaginative storytelling.
Open spaces for dance and movement
Music is incorporated into our routines. Space for dance, movement and exercise also allows your child to express their emotions, engage their creativity and develop coordination, mindfulness and gross motor skills.
STEM spaces
This is where you’ll find resources such as construction materials, blocks, maths and science activities where your child can learn about the world around them and further develop their cognitive skills.
We invite you to tour our centres, meet the team and experience the learning environments for yourself.
